Set or separate underlay?

If you are starting from scratch, a pond liner and underlay set is the simplest order. Choose the EPDM pond liner and underlay set for a heavier, more flexible liner. If you already have a liner, buy pond liner underlay fabric on its own and cut it to shape.

Laying underlay

Clear sharp stones and roots from the hole, add a layer of soft sand on stony ground, then lay the underlay so it covers the base, shelves and sides with overlaps where pieces join. Lay the liner on top and fill slowly so it settles into shape.
