MDPE Fittings – Compression Fittings and Wall Flange Kits

MDPE compression fittings are how a supply pipe gets to an outside tap, a field trough or an allotment standpipe. Size is set by the pipe's outside diameter, and a wall flange kit finishes the run neatly at a wall with a tap ready to use.

Sizing MDPE

Measure the outside diameter of the blue water pipe: 20mm and 25mm are common for domestic and garden runs, 32mm for longer or higher-flow supplies. Choose 20mm MDPE fittings or 25mm MDPE fittings to match. A stop valve lets you isolate an outside tap for winter.

Making a compression joint

Cut the pipe square, fit the insert into the pipe end, slide on the nut and ring, push the pipe fully home and tighten by hand plus the recommended turn. Most leaks come from a pipe not pushed fully into the fitting.
